Irwin Mitchell has secured £3,000 in compensation for a woman injured at work.
Our client, a 20-year-old woman, was employed as a waitress at a fast food outlet at the time of her accident.
On the day of the accident she was working with a colleague to clean a large cast iron grill which consisted of several different parts. As our client picked up one of the heavy slates to put back on the grill, it slipped out of her hands and landed on her left foot.
As a result of the accident she lost the toe nail and fractured her toe. The following day she underwent an operation on her toe.
It was argued that our client had never been given any instruction on how to clean the grill, and that training should have been supplied by the company she worked for. She accepted an out of court settlement in excess of £3,000 for her injuries.
If you’ve been injured in an accident at work, our personal injury solicitors could help you make a No Win No Fee compensation claim. See our Accident at Work Claims page for more information.
