A four figure compensation sum has been secured for a man after he was knocked from his bicycle by a woman who was driving whilst on her mobile phone.
When cycling home after work, Mr M from Aberdeen was approaching a roundabout, when Ms Cross, whose vehicle was travelling on Mr M’s outside suddenly changed lanes, without signalling, she crossed into Mr M’s lane and knocked him off his bicycle injuring him.
The driver of the vehicle, Amy Cross, was charged with careless driving and a report has been submitted to The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS), which is responsible for the prosecution of crime in Scotland.
As a result of the accident, Mr M sustained scrapes and bruises to his body along with damage to his bicycle, clothing and equipment. As a result, our client approached Irwin Mitchell Scotland, where through the hard work of specialist injury solicitor David Bell at Irwin Mitchell’s Glasgow office, £3000 was secured in compensation.
