The Irwin Mitchell Accidents at Work Team recently helped a man successfully claim a four figure sum of compensation after he was injured at work.
What Happened?
Our client was working for a store which was being refurbished. His manager asked him to take a roller cage into the storeroom, which was also being refurbished. As he pushed the roller cage into the storeroom into a large fixed metal cage, a large metal bar which was across the top of the door frame fell and hit our client on his head.
How Was He Affected?
As he had never been instructed to wear a protective helmet, he sustained an injury to his head and suffered from concussion.
What Was The Outcome?
Following the incident he contacted our Accidents at Work Team to discuss making a claim. With our assistance the other party admitted full liability for his accident and he received £1,600 in compensation.
