Specialist personal injury solicitors from Irwin Mitchell have recently helped a man to claim compensation after he sustained injuries to his leg and foot, while working on a delivery as part of his normal day job.
Our client was in the process of escorting a delivery van to the kitchens of a prison, with the goal of helping the driver to unload the products using a tail lift truck. Complications arose however, when it became clear that the van driver had stacked the tail lift too high, and asked our client to tell him how much room he had left, to guide him as he manoeuvred the crates.
Unfortunately, as our client approached the tail lift, one of the milk crates on top of the pallets crashed down onto the clients left foot and leg. The crate was dropped from a dangerous height, around four feet in the air, and under the impact of its weight our client sustained painful injuries.
Irwin Mitchell’s specialist team worked hard to help our client access the compensation he was entitled to, and, with liability being admitted by his place of work, compensation was successfully secured. With our assistance he was awarded £2,119 in compensation, for the pain and suffering he had sustained through no fault of his own.
