Irwin Mitchell’s specialist personal injury team in Sheffield has assisted a client to obtain compensation after she was injured in an accident at work.
Our client was working as a Customer Services Advisor in a call centre. Whilst at work she was using the ladies toilets and as she walked into the toilet cubicle and closed the door, the top of the door fell forward hitting her on the right shoulder and the right side of her face.
She sustained an injury to her right shoulder as a result of this accident.
She approached Irwin Mitchell’s Accidents at Work team for advice in pursuing a claim against her employer.
Irwin Mitchell obtained medical reports from an A&E Consultant and an Orthopaedic Consultant which indicated she had sustained an injury to the joint in her shoulder which was causing pain in the shoulder and she had concomitant impingement syndrome, a pain condition causing restrictions of movement.
As the claim for compensation processed Irwin Mitchell secured private treatment our client which consisted of physiotherapy and injection therapy.
Following negotiations, the specialist Accident at Work team in Sheffield were able to obtain £15,000 in compensation for our client. In addition to this the defendant also funded private treatment estimated to be at a cost of £2,000.
