Irwin Mitchell has recently helped a client to secure compensation after they suffered an injury to their mouth whilst attempting to open a train door.
The man was aboard an 'old fashioned' train, which required the passenger to open the train door by leaning out of a window and opening the door from the outside. The man therefore opened a window, placed his arm outside to open the door. The window then suddenly sprung back at him, hitting him in the mouth.
After contacting Irwin Mitchell’s experienced public liability team we were able to deal with this claim. Liability was denied in respect of this matter but in order to see an amicable end the Defendant's put forward an offer in the sum of £1,500.00.
