Our specialist road traffic accident team have helped a coach driver claim compensation after he suffered various injuries following a road traffic accident in 2007.
Our client - Keith - was driving a full passenger coach when he was hit by another coach. He suffered a minor injury to his knee as well as a prolapsed disc in his spine. Psychologically, Keith's injuries were so severe he could no longer work as a coach driver. Instead he had no choice but to work as a fisherman at a much lower wage and as his earnings were so much less his quality of life was greatly affected.
Keith's case was previously handled by another firm of solicitors which went into administration in March 2012. Some five years after the accident very little work had been done on the case and it was far from being ready for settlement.
In April 2012 Irwin Mitchell took over and through the hard work of Sofie Toft, a personal injury specialist based in our London offices, Keith received £42,500 compensation within a very short time.
Although our client had been through a lot of pain and suffering due to the accident, he was grateful that Irwin Mitchell were able to make the process of claiming easier and achieve a positive outcome. He commented: “I was very impressed with how Irwin Mitchell handled my case, particularly with Sofie Toft, she was amazing. They were very professional and I would recommend them to anybody”.
