Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Personal Injury team has helped a woman claim compensation after she slipped on a wet floor while shopping with her family.
Our client was on a shopping trip with her husband and three children and was exiting a well known retailer. She was unaware that the floor was wet, as the signs indicating this were only present on the outside of the store. Our client slipped on the wet floor and fell onto her right side, fracturing her right wrist.
As a result of the accident our client, who is employed as a member of the cabin crew for an airline, was unable to work for two months due to safety regulations. She also required help in taking care of her three young children and to help in her daily house work.
Our client decided to contact Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Personal Injury team and one of our experienced solicitors, Louise Scott, was able to deal with her claim. After some negotiations, Louise was able to secure the client a four figure sum in compensation, which included loss of earnings and an award for care and assistance. Fortunately, our client has made a full recovery from her injury and is now back at work.
Louise Scott commented: “This was a good result and I was particularly pleased that we were able to recover loss of earnings (which was mainly loss of overtime) in full.”
