Our client was helping a lorry driver reverse park his lorry, when her left hand was crushed between two lorries. Due to the severity of her injury our client returned home to Poland, where she was advised that she may require a left hand amputation. The driver of the lorry denied the accident had occurred.
Irwin Mitchell's expert solicitors issued Court proceedings and liability was admitted a week before the case was due to proceed to trial. With the help of Lindsey Houghton from the Serious Injury Team in Newcastle, an interim payment has been secured and our client can now have specialist treatment in the UK to try to restore function and save her
injured hand.
If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident that has resulted in the amputation of a limb, our serious injury claims team could help you claim compensation. See our Amputation Claims page for more information.
