Experts from our Sheffield personal injury team helped a man recover a four-figure compensation settlement after he was injured in a road accident.
The man was riding his motorbike on a one-way street on his way home from work. He was wearing a helmet and protective clothing with a rucksack on his back. As he was approaching a crossroads at between 30-40mph a pedestrian stepped out of the bus lane and the motorcyclist was unable to apply his brakes or manoeuvre to avoid a collision. As a result our client landed on his back.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. He had suffered a head injury, a soft tissue injury of the cervical spine, soft tissue injury to both thighs,
rib fractures and a fracture of the right scapula. Following the incident the man received routine pain management and physiotherapy.
Our client experienced breathlessness and a cough for approximately two months, chest pain for three months, neck pain for three or four weeks and some altered sensation affecting the tips of the fingers of both hands. As a result of these injuries our client was off work for around three months.
Rosalyn Holmes, a solicitor from our personal injury team in Sheffield managed to secure £3,500 compensation in an out-of-court settlement.
