Irwin Mitchell’s specialist accident at work team has assisted a client to obtain compensation after a broken sash window left her with permanent injuries to her finger.
Our client was working for a taxi firm on a warm April day in 2010 when she decided to open a sash window to let the air circulate. However, unbeknown to our client, the window casing was broken and when she opened the window it came back down on to her fingers of her right hand.
Our client sustained fractures to her index and middle fingers. She needed care from her husband for six months after the accident; this included three months while her fingers were in splint.
Our client has been left with a permanent inability to extend her index finger. She also suffers aching in this finger and has ongoing cold intolerance.
Irwin Mitchell’s specialist personal injury team secured £4,000 in compensation for our client less than two years after her accident.
