Mr M.S was working in Abu Dhabi as an engineer, involved in building roller coaster rides at the time of his accident.
Mr M.S was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing when he was struck by a taxi. He suffered fractures to his right leg and left hip as well as bruising to his head and a cut above his eyebrow.
He was unable to return to work then was subsequently diagnosed with cancer.
Mr M.S instructed his own lawyers to pursue a claim and was awarded a modest level of damages. Irwin Mitchell became involved to assist with an appeal. This proved to be successful and a greater sum of damages was awarded.
Unfortunately, Mr M.S was diagnosed with cancer and it was his wish to secure funds for his wife and the appeal was abandoned.
After a very long and trying process, Irwin Mitchell was finally able to recover damages for his widow. A five figure sum, after costs were deducted, was awarded, which enabled her to remain in the family home.
