Irwin Mitchell Solicitors have helped a young girl claim compensation after she was injured whilst playing at a local community play forum.
Our client was 13 at the time of her injury, which she sustained whilst playing on a large inflatable ball. She was not given any instruction or guidance on the use of the equipment, and the inflatable ball was so large than once our client rolled on top of it there was no possible way to control the direction that the ball would roll.
During play, the ball rolled forward and in reaching out to protect herself, our client suffered a fracture to her left arm which required surgery to secure and realign. The injury left our client with a slight reduction in her ability to extend the arm and a scar on the site of the surgery.
With the help of Mark Aldridge, personal injury specialist based in our Leeds office, Irwin Mitchell were able to secure an £8,000 award for the client by way of damages for the pain and suffering caused as a result of the accident.
