Our claimant successfully claimed compensation following negligent beauty treatment carried out in a beauty salon on 23 January 2011.
The claimant had an eye lash tint. She was not offered any patch or skin test despite informing the therapist that she had not had this treatment previously.
Following this treatment, her eyes became itchy, swollen and irritated and her symptoms became so severe that she was referred to the Ophthalmology department of her local hospital, where she was diagnosed with an allergic form of conjunctivitis.
Liability was admitted and the claim settled for £4,000, which included the cost of purchasing eye drops to ease ongoing symptoms of dry eye.
