Irwin Mitchell successfully claimed compensation for a Cardiff based man who tripped and injured himself in an unlit area of a supermarket car park at night.
Our client was walking along a pathway in the supermarket car park when he tripped over a bollard which had broken in half. The bollard was at a dangerous height and was difficult to see as lights on the pathway were not working. As a result, he fell to the ground twisting his left knee and jarring his shoulder.
Our client initially returned home but when the pain did not subside, he attended his local GP where he was diagnosed with soft tissue damage and received a course of Cocodamol to address the pain.
Reiss Matthews, a personal injury specialist based in the Birmingham, dealt with the claim and after the supermarket admitted liability, he was able to secure a five figure sum in an out of court settlement for our client. A positive outcome was achieved and both our client and Reiss were extremely happy with the result.
If you've been injured in a supermarket and it wasn't your fault, our personal injury claims team could help you claim compensation. See our Supermarket Accident Compensation Claims page for more information.
