Irwin Mitchell’s specialist accident at work team has assisted a man to claim compensation after he was injured at work.
Our client was working on the shop floor of a supermarket when he was asked by a customer to hand them a product from a top shelf.
Our client was required to use a stand on step tool to reach the product. He was unaware that the shelf was overstocked and as he went to reach for the product a bottle of concentrated weed killer fell from the shelf. The weed killer top was not tightly screwed on and as the bottle fell the weed killer split onto to him and entered his eye.
Our client required surgery to his eye and had to take time off work.
Following the accident he contacted Irwin Mitchell’s accident at work team to discuss making a claim for compensation. With our assistant we were able to secure £4,500 in compensation for our client.
