Irwin Mitchell’s serious injury team has successfully claimed damages on behalf of a man who was left with a serious back injury following a head-on collision.
Our client was travelling home with his wife and three young children when another vehicle lost control travelling round a sharp bend, causing a head-on collision injuring all 5 passengers. Our client sustained a crush fracture to three vertebras.
As a result of the accident our client also developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and travel anxiety. These affects, along with his physical injuries and those of his family members meant he was forced to take time off work and led him to turn down a new job opportunity.
With thanks to Associate Solicitor Laura Middleton-Guerard, our client was able to secure an early interim payment which enabled him to receive physiotherapy and also psychological support to help minimise the effects of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and travel anxiety. He was also able to secure funding to for his continual attendance at the gym in order to strengthen his back and regain some of his physical independence.
Our client received £52,000 in compensation for his loss of earnings due to him turning down the relevant job offer and the pain and suffering he endured.
