A husband and father-of-two died in a parasail accident whilst on holiday in Turkey in 2010. Glenn Hudson, 50, was sharing a parasail experience with his daughter Emma, 26, when he fell 150 feet to his death.
In March this year, the driver of the speed boat and the owner of the parasailing company were found guilty of criminal negligence and sentenced to 20 months in prison by the Turkish courts. The sentences are being appealed and the case has subsequently been referred to the Supreme Court in Turkey.
An inquest, which took place at Chelmsford County Court in August, examined the circumstances of the parasail tragedy and concluded his death was accidental. Phil Banks of Irwin Mitchell who specialises in dealing with serious injuries and fatal accidents abroad said:
“This has been an incredibly difficult year for Mrs Hudson, Emma and Benn, who have been devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of a loving father and husband.”
