Katrina Elsey from our personal injury team has urged pub landlords and managers to take more care with their internal fittings after a man was injured when he hit his head on a low hanging object.
The man was visiting a pub in October 2008 when the incident took place. He suffered a laceration on his forehead and a neck sprain. His sleep was also disturbed for around two weeks and he suffered headaches for the first week.
We helped the man to make a claim and although liability for the accident was not admitted, we agreed an out of court settlement of £2,500. Katrina Elsey said: "I urge premises to take extra care when positioning hanging items. Low hanging objects within public premises can cause a danger to customers."
