Irwin Mitchell has successfully secured compensation for an elderly lady from Rugby who was injured in a road traffic collision.
As a result of the incident, which took place in Rugby, our client sustained life-changing physical, psychological and emotional injuries including symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and anxiety, which has prevented her from returning to driving. She also developed rheumatoid arthritis as a result of the trauma. Our client’s husband very sadly died as a result of the collision.
Irwin Mitchell secured compensation of £28,000 in an out of court settlement.
Ann Houghton, solicitor, from the Serious Injury team in Birmingham represented the client. Ann commented “This was a sad case in which our client lost her husband and suffered with psychological and emotional problems as a result of the trauma of the collision. Bringing this claim was a brave step for my client and we strived to support her every step of the way. The successful out of court settlement we secured should ensure that she can access therapy in the future and provide her with security.”
