An Infantry Officer who was injured in a road traffic accident in Iraq sustained injuries to his back,
whiplash injuries and a dislocated left shoulder.
As a result of the accident he also suffered from depression and post traumatic stress disorder. The accident was caused by driver error and liability was admitted on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.
The assessment of compensation was complicated by our client’s ongoing injuries and other symptoms during rehabilitation. The award of compensation included a claim for loss of future earnings and the cost of future medical treatment and rehabilitation. As a direct result of the accident our client was discharged from the army after having served as a full time reservist.
An out of Court settlement was obtained on behalf of our client and he was awarded £315,000 in compensation.
