Specialist lawyers from our international travel team helped a woman from the UK recover $85,000 after she was injured in an accident in the USA.
Karen Jacques was holidaying in Florida with her family in 2006. During a day trip to the Universal Islands of Adventure Theme Park, Mrs Jacques fell in some uneven ground and fractured her fibula and right ankle.
Mrs Jacques was initially treated in the USA and then was then flown home to the UK where she underwent surgery to stabilise the fractures.
The defendants denied liability for the accident, contending that Mrs Jacques failed to note the presence of the uneven ground.
Despite the denial of liability, our travel claims team, along with their agents in the USA, helped Mrs Jacques recover $85,000 in compensation.
