Miss M worked in a warehouse and suffered an accident at work when some boxes from a cage being moved on a pump truck by a colleague fell from the cage striking her lower back.
Miss M sustained a soft tissue injury to her back and required painkillers and a course of physiotherapy. She had aggravated an existing back condition.
Liability was admitted and a settlement of just over £3,000 was negotiated.
Louise Morgan of Irwin Mitchell's specialist Accidents at Work team said, "It is important that employers ensure, so far as possible, that steps are taken to prevent their employees being struck by falling items liable to cause injury."
