A Coventry biker has been awarded £160,000 in compensation in respect of injuries sustained in an accident in May 2008.
The accident happened as he was riding his bike close to his home, when a car pulled into his path without looking, causing a collision. He was thrown off his bike and over the car, sustaining multiple fractures, as well as psychological trauma.
Stephen Nye, Partner in the Irwin Mitchell Birmingham office dealt with the claim. Stephen commented: "This was an accident that was completely avoidable, had the car driver simply looked before pulling out. It is a reminder to us all that we should take extra care in looking out for motorbikes and bicycles when emerging from junctions.
"My client has made a reasonable recovery from his serious injuries, though there are some permanent symptoms which are likely to affect his ability to work in the future".
