Our Client, Mrs June Bickle, the widow of Mr Allan Robert Bickle (deceased) who died from mesothelioma following exposure to asbestos during employment.
Mr Bickle was employed by Filtrona United Kingdom Limited as a Turner. He was exposed to asbestos dusts and fibres whilst engaged in the production of machinery used to manufacture cigarettes, and was regularly involved in making components such as washers from insulating material known as Sindanyo containing asbestos in the form of a bar, in a high speed process which created clouds of dust that were released into the atmosphere in which he worked.
Mr Bickle contacted Roger Maddocks, Partner and asbestos related disease specialist at Irwin Mitchell to find out some answers. The team at Irwin Mitchell immediately started work to ensure justice was achieved for Mr Bickle.
Although initially the insurers alleged Sindanyo did not contain asbestos when confronted with the evidence obtained by the Irwin Mitchell team they accepted that it did. Sadly Mr Bickle died before the case was concluded. however, following negotiations a substantial settlement was achieved for his widow.
