Our client was injured in a skiing accident in January 2006, in La Clusaz, France.
She was skiing on a green run when a snowboarder hit her from behind. The snowboarder had realised she was going to hit our client and tried to slow down, but she fell and slid across our client’s skis, making her fall on her shoulder. Our client suffered a dislocated shoulder and fractured part of the head of the humerus.
Our client was taken from the piste on a stretcher and then taken to a local hospital in an ambulance. The incident was reported to the local police.
The snowboarder’s insurers accepted liability and we were able to recover more than €10,000 compensation for our client. Such compensation was awarded in respect of our client’s injuries, medical and travel expenses and the unused portion of her ski pass. The compensation also included gardener’s costs, as our client had a large garden that she was unable to tend for several months.
