A Sheffield man has received a five-figure sum in compensation after he was seriously injured in a road traffic accident which killed his brother and friend.
Our client was the front seat passenger of a vehicle which was involved in a collision on the M69 motorway in Coventry. The driver of the vehicle was proceeding along the motorway when another vehicle collided with them, shunting them off the motorway and down an embankment.
Our client's brother and friend who were rear seat passengers tragically died following the accident.
Our client sustained a fracture of the right clavicle, a fracture of the left hand, a together with lacerations and a number of soft tissue injuries. He also suffered psychological trauma.
As well as receiving compensation for his injuries, the cost of his private rehabilitation treatment for his psychological trauma was also funded by the insurers of the other driver. He also received an interim payment to cover the cost of the funeral expenses for his brother.
The case was settled by Alicia Townsend of Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Road Traffic Accident Team. She said, "Whilst the client has received compensation to reflect his injuries, no amount of money can replace the other two occupants whom he was extremely close to and who sadly lost their lives."
If you have been injured in similar circumstances, you may be able to make a
motor accident claim.
