Biography
I have specialised in Claimant Clinical Negligence since being admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2004.
In 2012 I was appointed to the Law Society's Panel of Clinical Negligence Experts and in 2017 I was endorsed in Chambers and Partners, an independent legal directory recommending specialists in the field.
One of the cases I conducted as lead solicitor came before the Court of Appeal and clarified a principle of the law of causation as it applies to Clinical Negligence.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I enjoy being part of a large, multi-disciplinary firm. There is a wealth of experience to draw upon and it is seldom that a situation arises which one of us hasn't come across before.
What inspired you to get into law?
I suffered a catastrophic injury whilst studying at university, which resulted in my spending many months in halo traction. A claim arose out of the circumstances of the injury, and this piqued my interest in the ability of the law to help individuals who have suffered a life changing injury begin to rebuild their lives. A Masters in Law followed together with my specialising in this field.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy spending time with my young family, gardening, yoga and practising my (rather bad) Italian!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
As will be evident from my testimonials, the ability to use the law to help people re-build what are often shattered lives.
