‘Swift Investigation Needed’ Into Redfield Edge E.coli Outbreak HPA Reveals Concerns Over Bristol Cases 25.05.2011 Illness specialists at Irwin Mitchell have called for authorities in the south-west to carry out a thorough investigation into a confirmed outbreak of E.coli at a Bristol school. The Health Protection Agency has revealed it is looking into the five cases which have been found at Redfield Edge Primary School, with each of the youngsters involved being hospitalised. It is also considering reports that parents of 40 pupils have highlighted mild symptoms, while similar problems have allegedly been seen at other primary schools in the city. The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified.Irwin Mitchell provides advice and support to a number of people who have suffered serious illness both in the UK and abroad, including victims affected by outbreaks of E.coli.Gary Walker, who specialises in group actions at the firm, said: “News of this outbreak is of great concern, particularly as there are worries that problems are being seen at more schools.“Strains of illness like E.coli can have a devastating impact on vulnerable members of society like children, the elderly and those who are already sick. We see first-hand how it can have a massive impact on the wellbeing of people, with some often suffering long-term health problems as a result.“It is vital that authorities quickly get to the bottom of these problems and work to address how and why it came about.“Hopefully such information will then ensure that lessons can be learnt from this case that will prevent people in Bristol and elsewhere from suffering the same problems.” Press contact James Clarke Press Officer +44 (0)161 838 3169 Email James Related articles 15.02.2019Transgender Man Fights For Right To Be Recognised As Father On Child's Birth Certificate 14.02.2019Former Shipyard Worker Seeks Answers After Lung Cancer Diagnosis Is Linked To Asbestos 13.02.2019Woman Who Suffered Delayed Diagnosis Speaks Out After Trust Admits Errors 12.02.2019Another Set Of Dementia Friends Made At Irwin Mitchell's Chichester Office 11.02.2019West London Family's Hope For Answers After Mum With Mental Health Problems Dies 11.02.2019Dad Assaulted and Run Over In Chesterfield Town Centre Reveals Battle To Return To Health
