Specialist lawyers from Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office supported National Bike Week in June to help raise awareness about cycle safety. Staff from the Newcastle office joined forces with Dave Buchan from Steel Cycles, based in South Gosforth, and the Evening Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund to host a special bike ride for children from Hadrian School around the picturesque grounds of the Cragside National Trust site in Northumberland.
Irwin Mitchell sponsored the event to coincide with National Bike Week to promote the need for cyclists and motorists to share the road safely.
John Davis, regional managing partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office, said: ““Supporting children like those at Hadrian School is something that’s close to all our hearts at the Newcastle office and we couldn’t think of a better way to mark our milestone 10th anniversary than joining forces with the school.
“The cycle ride was a lot of fun for the children who took part and I’m sure they helped raise awareness about the importance of cycle safety as well as picking up some tips themselves.”
Hadrian School teaches children between two & 11-years-old who have a range of complex and severe learning difficulties. It has specialist facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, sensory integration room, a sensory suite and soft play area.
