New Hire Strengthens Asia-Pacific Focus And Cross-Border Expertise
Law Firm Irwin Mitchell is delighted to welcome Grace Morahan to its Family team, as part of the firm’s strategic growth plans to expand its international divorce practice.
Already qualified in Australia, Grace previously worked at Broun Abrahams Burreket in Sydney where she advised high-net-worth families and complex cases with international elements.
Irwin Mitchell’s international divorce team is led by Clare Wiseman, who brings specialist expertise in cases involving the Asia-Pacific region, among other areas. Grace will be working closely with Clare, as well as existing team member, April Wood, who is dual-qualified in Australia and England. They will continue to work alongside colleagues in the High Net Worth & International team which is headed up by Claire-Marie Cornford.
Expert Opinion
“We’re seeing a significant increase in international family law work, particularly across the Asia-Pacific region and Grace’s arrival is a key part of our strategy to meet this growing demand.
“Lawyers like Grace and April bring a unique advantage to our clients. They are able to identify which jurisdiction offers the fairest or most advantageous outcome, advise on forum shopping and jurisdiction disputes before proceedings begin, and protect clients from conflicting advice in cross-border cases. They also help avoid duplicated costs when assets or pensions span multiple countries.
“Grace’s experience and insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow our international offering.”
