Expert Opinion
“To have consistently been ranked as one of the best firms in the country for women to work for over several years is an achievement all our colleagues can be proud of.
“To maintain our place in the top twenty is a testament to all the hard work that goes into making Irwin Mitchell a diverse and inclusive workplace and one where all our female colleagues can thrive.
“As in previous years, we’ll continue to use this ranking to do more to build a business where people are valued for who they are and what they bring. With responsible business at the heart of all we do, the coming year will see us build on these foundations, improving opportunities for colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds to better serve our clients and the communities in which we operate.” Susana Berlevy - Group Chief People Officer
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work UK, said: “We’re delighted to announce our 2023 collection of the Best Workplaces for Women for the sixth consecutive year. This list celebrates the workplaces that are not just providing a great work environment for all, but are ensuring they’re creating a positive and supportive environment for women too.
“Each of the companies on our list have been commended by their own female employees who have anonymously told us their workplace has gone above and beyond to ensure that women employees are treated fairly in terms of recognition, training, and promotion opportunities.
“Ensuring people aren’t discriminated against, placing positive value on our differences, creating fair access and advancement for all, and fostering a sense of value and empowerment in employees is what being a Great Place to Work is all about. It is fantastic to once again celebrate so many Best Workplaces for Women this year, across all sectors and organisational sizes.”
Irwin Mitchell’s female employees have continued to make great strides both within the firm and the wider legal sector. In February, Paula Myers, the firm’s director of Private Client Legal Services was invited to join the 2023 Northern Power Women Power List.
The prestigious Power List recognises the trailblazers who challenge the norm and ensure that everyone they work with recognises the benefit of having a gender balanced workplace and shifting the dial towards a more equitable world for women in work.
