Ros Bever And Scott Halliday Win Big At Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards
Two awards have been won for Irwin Mitchell’s family law solicitors, at the most prestigious family law event of the year.
The esteemed Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards, which took place today (25 November), have now run for 11 years and are considered the top awards in the sector.
Against tough competition Scott Halliday, an associate at Irwin Mitchell, won Young Solicitor of the Year while Ros Bever, partner and national head of Family Law at Irwin Mitchell was awarded Partner of the Year. Irwin Mitchell was also the only law firm to win two awards on the night.
Scott was celebrated for his contribution to a growing area of law, referencing his ground-breaking work in the ‘modern families’ sphere, while Ros was commended for her running of the national team and heavy-hitting case load as a titan in the industry.
The awards, held virtually in light of the pandemic, are the premier awards for family law, celebrating excellence and contributions to the family law world. With over 500 guests registered in attendance to see Scott and Ros’ win, the event promised to be spectacular even from home.
The judging panel was made up of the heads of the Family Law Bar Association; Resolution; the Association of Lawyers for Children; and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, along with Family Law editors and publishing executives.
Scott Halliday, associate at Irwin Mitchell and winner said: “It’s an absolute delight to have won this award. Everyone knows the Family Law Awards are the ones to watch out for in the diary, so to even be nominated – let alone win – is incredibly rewarding.
“I’d like to congratulate all the other nominees and winners on their achievements as well. Though we’re at home under lockdown, tonight I’ll be sure to pop open the champagne in celebration!”
Ros Bever, partner, national head of Family Law at Irwin Mitchell and winner said: “I’m completely thrilled to have won this award, which was a total surprise and a real boost during these trying times.
“I’d also like to give credit to my national team, who make the job of being national head a real pleasure and inspire me every day.
“Huge congratulations to the rest of the winners and nominees, and hopefully we’ll be able to celebrate in person soon.”
