Hannah Clipston Determined To Keep Building On Firm’s Litigation Powerhouse Credentials
Leading law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced that Hannah Clipston has been promoted to the role of National Head of Commercial Litigation.
Hannah will take over from Vicky Brackett, who will remain CEO of the firm’s Business Legal Services division and an Exec Board member. Vicky has led the department for four years and has decided to stand down from the role in order to focus on continuing to grow the firm’s business team.
Hannah, who is also Head of Business Legal Services at Irwin Mitchell’s Southampton office, has considerable experience in commercial litigation and the resolution of disputes for commercial organisations, particularly in the sport and leisure industry.
In her new role, Hannah will head a team consisting of 13 partners, 10 senior associates and seven associates.

“Commercial litigation however is just one area of Irwin Mitchell’s expertise. I look forward to building on Vicky’s efforts to work with colleagues across the firm and ensure we build on our significant capability across business, family-related or personal injury related disputes.”

Vicky Brackett added: “Hannah is the ideal candidate to continue driving our commercial litigation offer forward and I’m confident she’ll lead the department to great success.
“She shares my vison for growing the team and along with others here, she’s worked hard to position us at the forefront of changes in relation to video courts and mediation. Hannah’s innovative approach will be crucial in helping us to push the boundaries for our clients during these challenging times.”
According to data highlighting settled court cases in the UK, Irwin Mitchell has consistently been in the top five for the number of cases and days spent representing clients in court - including a number of successes at the Supreme Court in recent years.
Last June, it successfully represented Judge Gilham in a high profile Supreme Court whistle-blowing case. In October, it reaffirmed its litigation credentials after winning two different cases in the Supreme Court on the same day.
