Lawyers Put Through Their Fundraising Paces For Sheffield School
Two local lawyers have swapped briefs for blackboards, having taken on the role of Charity Champions and fundraisers by selling ‘Positivity Packages’ for a school in High Green, Sheffield.
Rebecca Hall and Laura Robinson from the Medical negligence team in the Sheffield office of Irwin Mitchell are now Charity Champions for Paces Conductive Education School in High Green, which supports families, children and adults with neurological conditions.
Founded by parents of children with Cerebral Palsy in 1997, the school is planning a National Centre for Conductive Education off the Sheffield Parkway, which is expected to open in 2022.
Conductive education is a complete package of educational support that aims to give children and adults the greatest possible independence. As part of their role, Rebecca and Laura are fundraising for Paces, by preparing, selling and delivering ‘Positivity Packages’.
Designed to fit through a letter box, and priced at £5, the packs include motivational postcards, candles, sweets, chocolate and fancy tea, together with inspiring stories about the amazing work Paces undertakes and information about what the money raised will be able to fund.
Charity Champion and Irwin Mitchell solicitor Rebecca Hall, said: “Paces is an amazing school and Laura and I wanted to do something to raise money and awareness for them at this time.
“Life is difficult for a lot of people right now, so we wanted to offer something uplifting that could easily reach people, put a smile on faces and improve wellbeing along the way. Our team has been working with Paces for many years so this seemed a great way to get further involved and continue to support them despite the lockdown restrictions.”
Expert Opinion
“We work closely with Paces School and it’s great to see Rebecca and Laura fundraising for them as Charity Champions, at what is an exciting time in the history of the school.
“Having outgrown their existing home, our real estate colleagues have also assisted Paces with the land purchase for the National Centre so it is nice for our team to be involved in fundraising.
“Once operational, the new Paces National Centre will support even more adults and children in addition to being a local hub that will benefit the whole community.” Julianne Moore - Partner
The Positivity Packages are available to buy between Monday 20 July and Friday 24 July and all proceeds will go towards Paces School.
