Fiona Farrell And Marie Kilgallen Brings Head Count To 17

Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell has recruited a new senior associate and associate to its top-ranked Birmingham Family Law team.

Senior associate Fiona Farrell and associate Marie Kilgallen both join from Shakespeare Martineau’s Birmingham office. With over 13 years of experience, Fiona is an expert in handling a range of family cases, especially those involving complex international elements, high-value finance issues and Children Act cases.

Fiona is named as an Associate to Watch by leading independent legal directory Chambers & Partners, which states with regards to her client care, “She knows how to go forward with a case and support her clients through it”.

Marie is experienced in handling all aspects of family law, and is a specialist in advising on complex and high-value financial divorce proceedings. Her cases often involve difficult issues around how to split property, businesses and pensions.

Committed to finding the best result for her clients, Marie is also an expert in cohabitation agreements for couples. She is a member of Resolution, with Complex Financial Remedies 2 and Cohabitation & TOLATA accreditations.

Fiona and Marie join a top-tier team, according to leading independent legal directories The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners. Under partner Clare Wiseman’s leadership, the team has grown recently with the arrival of partner Zahra Pabani in November 2019 to become one of the largest Family Law teams in Birmingham.

The Birmingham team has been involved with major cases including Hart v Hart, where partner Sarah Balfour was successful in the Court of Appeal securing her client her divorce settlement, and Brack v Brack where Clare appeared in the Court of Appeal.
