Irwin Mitchell’s Collection Helps Charity Prepare More Than 50 Meals
The Manchester Central Foodbank has received a boost after local lawyers once again offered a helping hand to the charity by collecting a number of donations to support those struggling with food poverty in the city.
Staff at the Manchester office of Irwin Mitchell have contributed to filling a donation bin for the organisation, which was first established in 2013 and is part of the Trussell Trust’s network of more than 400 foodbanks across the UK.
It has since emerged that the food items donated will allow the charity to provide in excess of 50 meals through the emergency food parcels the charity provides to individuals and families experiencing food poverty in the local area.
The latest generous donations have come just months after Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office also provided more than 140 chocolate eggs to the foodbank as part of a special Easter initiative.
William Howe, the trainee solicitor at the Irwin Mitchell Manchester office who coordinated the latest round of donations, said: “Our entire firm is committed to doing what it can to support the local communities where we are based and we are pleased to have developed close links with some very important causes across the city.”
