Chichester Office Solicitors Supporting Local Community
Leading national law firm Irwin Mitchell’s Chichester office has made more of its solicitors Dementia Friends, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the local community.
The Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.
Dementia Friends are provided with specialist training on what living with dementia is like and the best way to support those with the illness. Irwin Mitchell has been involved in the initiative since 2017, and it has the support of CEO Andrew Tucker.
Nicola Hawkins and Nicola Turner are both solicitors in Irwin Mitchell’s tax trust and estates team and are fully trained Dementia Friend Champions. They ran the training session for other Irwin Mitchell colleagues and they also run sessions for members of the public and local businesses and business partners.
The firm’s Chichester office has been a longstanding supporter of local charity Dementia Support, which is the office’s Charity of the Year for the third year running. Irwin Mitchell solicitors run legal clinics at Dementia Support twice a month.
The Chichester office is also where tax, trusts and estates partner and planning for later life head Kelly Greig is based, further strengthening the office’s ties to supporting later life initiatives, and Irwin Mitchell is hosting its first later life planning conference in April.
