Law Firm Recognised For Diversity
Irwin Mitchell has been named as Regulatory Law Firm of the Year at the Women in Compliance Awards.
The annual awards celebrate the achievements female compliance professionals from across the globe make every day in the world of compliance and business.
London based Partner and Head of Irwin Mitchell Regulatory and Criminal Investigations Group (RCG), Sarah Wallace, collected the award on the firm’s behalf at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, last night (22 March).
The accolade is a double victory for Irwin Mitchell. Not only does it recognise the firm’s exceptional work in the regulatory field, including FCA regulation and our work on the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation, but it also celebrates Irwin Mitchell’s commitment to gender diversity in the workplace. The firm was commended for its passion for inclusion and diversity, support of women in the workplace and the work it is doing to help improve work/life balance for all colleagues.
The judges comments for Irwin Mitchell's win were: "In addition to the impressive work achieved for its clients, the firm has taken excellent initiatives in important areas: regulatory, its people, in particular its female staff. The firm seems to have taken the phrase "work/life balance" to a different level. Importantly this "people matter" culture seems to be inclusive of all employees, not just female employees. Irwin Mitchell's desire and success to "provide an ever-improving service to clients and an ever-improving workplace for all" has been well evidenced in its entry and can only lead to benefits for every concerned parties."
The award is the latest in a string of successes which celebrate Irwin Mitchell’s outstanding social responsibility work which covers community, people, pro bono and environment. Just three months into the year Irwin Mitchell and its employees have already picked up the Birmingham Law Society Pro Bono Award (Rosie Banks), the Excellence in Diversity Signature Award, Woman of the Year at the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards (Ros Bever) and the Community Engagement Award from Disability Sport Yorkshire.
Gatwick based Corporate Associate Solicitor, George di Silvo was named Young Dealmaker of the Year at the South East Dealmakers Awards and the firm accepted their Legal 500 Award for Regional Insurance Firm of the Year at a ceremony at the Royal Exchange in London last month.
