Irwin Mitchell Established Themselves In The North East in 2003
National law firm Irwin Mitchell is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the North East this year, following the law firm’s move to the region in 2003.
Concorde took its last flight, iTunes was only just being launched by Apple, and England ruled the Rugby world. A lot has changed since Irwin Mitchell first opened its doors to the Grey Street office the firm occupied until 2013, before its move to its current offices at Wellbar Central.
Starting with just five staff, the law firm now has a roster of 83 colleagues that provide the region with tier one personal injury and clinical negligence work, as ranked by the independent Legal 500 guide to legal services.
The office has also been widely recognised for its achievements, winning Team of the Year awards at the North Law Awards three times, as well as individual recognitions for our Rising Star of the Year and Trainee of the Year at the same awards.
Paula Myers, Newcastle's Regional Managing Partner, said:
Expert Opinion
"The Newcastle office has gone from strength to strength in the last 15 years, with two offices in the North East, in Newcastle and Middlesbrough, and a number of legal experts and teams providing a range of services which has achieved some amazing outcomes for our clients and their families.
"15 years ago we opened our doors on Grey Street and we've never looked back. Thanks to a whole host of amazing people, past and present we've grown significantly and we look to continue to do so in the future.” Paula Myers - National Head of Will, Trust and Estate Disputes
The law firm kicked things off in style with an event at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the same venue also played host the Irwin Mitchell’s first event in the city all those years ago.
In the time between the two events, the law firm has dealt with over 14,000 pieces of work adding up to more than 700,000 hours of hard work on behalf of their clients in and around the North East, achieving plenty of life changing outcomes with tens of millions of pounds in settlements secured for severely injured clients.
