Demand For Answers Regarding Problems At Hotel Be Live Experience Lanzarote Beach
A family who were on holiday in Lanzarote earlier this year have called on specialist illness lawyers to help gain answers regarding how the problems developed with one of them being diagnosed with Salmonella.
Colin Mclean, from Glasgow, and his daughter, Lucy, began to suffer from symptoms including diarrhoea and stomach cramps during their week-long stay at the Hotel Be Live Experience Lanzarote Beach in Costa Teguise in June, with the problems impacting on the rest of their break.
Upon return to the UK, Lucy was taken to the GP and following tests it was confirmed that she had contracted salmonella.
Now, after instructing specialist lawyers in Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury team to investigate the cause of the illness, Colin has revealed his hope for answers related to everything that happened during and after the holiday booked through TUI UK Ltd, trading as First Choice.
Jennifer Downing, the legal expert at Irwin Mitchell who is representing Colin and his family, said:

Colin stay at the Hotel Be Live Experience Lanzarote Beach with his partner Susan Rudd, 48, and their daughter Lucy, eight, began on June 22nd, and just a few days into the holiday Colin and Lucy stated to feel unwell.
Colin has recalled to his legal team that some of the food, such as the eggs, appeared undercooked. Also, on occasions the cold food was not chilled properly and some of the food was left uncovered and out for long periods of time so much so that it had in places gone stale and was dried out.
He said: “The illness really hit me hard and it was very difficult to get any enjoyment out of the second half of the holiday. This was meant to be a nice relaxing family break, so I was completely devastated that I was not able to enjoy the time with Susan and Lucy.
“When I got home it was quickly confirmed that Lucy had got salmonella which was very worrying.
“The illness took a huge toll on my family. I am just hugely frustrated that all of this happened to us and we genuinely feel that we deserve answers regarding everything that we have been through.”
