Annual Christmas Charity Donations Doubled Thanks To Law Firm Staff
The Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation is doubling the annual donation it makes to homeless charities this year thanks to the generosity of the law firm’s staff.
As part of its commitment to relieve poverty and suffering, each year at Christmas time the IMCF, a charitable foundation set up by the law firm’s staff in 1997, makes donations to good causes which support homeless people.
In previous years a £500 donation has been made to charities local to each of the law firm’s 13 UK offices. However, thanks to the generosity of Irwin Mitchell colleagues the IMCF has been able to increase its total donation from £6,500 to £13,000.
Colleagues at Irwin Mitchell have decided to distribute this year’s donation pot to the following 23 homeless charities around the UK, to help ensure they can continue providing food, shelter and support to the homeless throughout the festive period.
As well as donating money, colleagues at the firm have also been collecting toiletries and clothing as well as using their volunteering allowances to help these good causes.

Aside from annual donations to homeless charities at Christmas, the IMCF also helps raise funds for 13 small to midsized UK charities each year which are chosen by Irwin Mitchell colleagues.
In 2018 staff at the law firm raised £180,000, their highest amount to date, for their Charities of the Year 2017-8. In 2017 the firm also raised over £22,000 in a single month to celebrate IMCF’s 20th anniversary.
Personal Injury specialist and Partner, Adrian Budgen, is also a Trustee of the IMCF.
