Family Reveal Hope For Answers From Upcoming Hearing
The wife of a man who died last year shortly after receiving an organ transplant at Churchill Hospital in Oxford has revealed how she hopes an upcoming inquest will provide much-needed answers in relation to his death.
Leigh Robbins, from Sleaford, passed away aged 53 in March 2016 after his condition deteriorated dramatically just two months following a pancreas transplant.
An inquest into his case is now set to be held at Oxford Coroner’s Court, 1 Tidmarsh Lane, Oxford, OX1 1NS, from 10am on May 30th and is listed for three days.
Following his death, Leigh’s wife Rebecca instructed specialist medical negligence lawyers at Irwin Mitchell to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and help her gain answers regarding whether it could have been prevented.
Guy Forster, the legal expert at Irwin Mitchell who is representing Rebecca, said:
Expert Opinion
“This is an incredibly tragic case and, just over a year on from Leigh’s death, our client remains understandably devastated by the loss of her husband and her son’s father.
“This inquest should hopefully provide vital information in relation to the events leading up to his death and we hope that the detail will ensure that the family will be able to get the answers they deserve.” Guy Forster - Partner
Rebecca Robbins, 37, added: “Leigh was a much-loved husband and father and we think about him every day. It still feels hard to believe that he is gone.
“We simply want to be able to understand what happened and whether more could have been done to prevent his death.”
