Hendy’s Acquisition Of Lifestyle Motor Group Wins In Large Deal Category
A corporate transaction which was advised on by the Southampton office of Irwin Mitchell has picked up a prestigious prize at last night’s Solent Deals Awards.
Hendy’s acquisition of Lifestyle Motor Group, which completed last year and created a new business with a turnover of almost £600m, was named Large Deal of the Year in the ceremony’s over £50m category.
In order to win the award, the Hendy deal beat off tough competition from three other high profile transactions including the University of Southampton’s bond issue and Utility Funding’s sale to Foresight Metering.
The judging panel assessed over 500 nominations across all categories and the winning deals were chosen by a combination of judges’ votes and judging on the night with guests at the awards dinner using voting keypads.
Dean Drew, Corporate partner at Irwin Mitchell in Southampton, advised the Hendy Group on the deal and attended the event at the Hilton at The Ageas Bowl along with the Hendy team.
Commenting on his client’s success, Drew said:

Also last night at the Insider's annual Sheffield City Region Dealmakers Awards, the sale of Pyronix to Hikvision won National / International Deal of the Year, whilst the disposal of Diamond Dispersions to Lubrizol was named Mid-Market Deal of the Year. Both transactions were advised on by Irwin Mitchell.
