Legal Experts Take Part In Skydive To Help Headway
Staff from Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office have reached new heights and raised over £1000 for a local brain injury charity by taking part in a death-defying skydive.
Daredevil trainee solicitors from the law firm, Tara Wright, Laura Willis and Jennifer Shipley, all took part in the event, on Friday 16 September, to raise vital funds for Headway Birmingham and Solihull.
The charity, who have an office in Rednal, Birmingham, give help and support to people affected by brain injury and those who care for them.
The legal experts based in the firm’s city centre Temple Street office, raised a total of £1160 by performing the five minute long tandem skydives from 13,000 feet, enduring a staggering 42 seconds of free-fall before their parachutes opened.
Trainee personal injury expert Jennifer Shipley said that donations were still rolling in.
Expert Opinion
The team have never done anything like this before but knowing we were all doing it for such a great cause made every terrifying second of the jump feel worthwhile.
We have first-hand experience working with many children and families who are affected by brain injuries and understand how important the services from charities like Headway Birmingham and Solihull are to them.
When they approached us about taking part in the jump for them, we were all terrified but I think I speak for the whole team when I say how much we enjoyed it on the day.
