HSE And Police Examining Incident Involving Overhead Cable
The Health and Safety Executive and Police Scotland are investigating after a truck driver was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck an 11,000 volt cable at a farm in West Lothian.
Emergency services were called to Humbie Holdings near Kirknewton on the evening of June 3rd, along with engineers from Scottish Power who dealt with the power supply. The driver, 27, died at the scene.
It is thought that the tipper bed was raised when the incident with the overhead cable occurred.
Police Scotland has stated there was no suspicious circumstances related to the incident and a report is to be filed to the Procurator Fiscal.
