Staff And Passengers Affected By Severe Turbulence Which Led To Diversion
Aviation lawyers representing passengers who have suffered physical and psychological injuries during emergency landings and in-flight emergencies have revealed their concerns after reports of problems on board an Easyjet flight which was forced to land in Rome following turbulence.
Flight EZY8529 from London Gatwick to Naples carrying more than 150 passengers was diverted to the Italian capital after it reportedly hit an air pocket in a thunderstorm, with witnesses in the cabin reporting that stewards were thrown in the air as a result of the problems.
Easyjet confirmed in a statement that the plane was diverted to Rome Fiumicino following the incident, adding that a member of the crew sustained an injury in the incident.
The airline apologised for the incident and added that the aircraft landed safely and passengers disembarked before being transported to Naples by coach.
