Event Held By Allanson Bowling Club Affected By Problems
An illness outbreak following a bowling club function held at the Colwyn Bay Cricket Club on 9th October may have been caused by norovirus, according to local reports.
Members of the Allanson Bowling Club held an annual function on that date and a number of people who attended the event reported suffering from gastric illness symptoms.
NewsNorthWales reports that the environmental health officers at Conwy County Council have said that tests have confirmed that the cause of the illness was norovirus rather than the food served at the event.
The local authority added that Public Health Wales advised anyone with severe symptoms which have lasted more than 48 hours should contact their GP or NHS Direct for further support.
