Prosecution Also Related To Noise Condition Breaches
The landlord of the New Inn pub in Selby has been fined a total of £17,500 in relation to failures to adhere to both food hygiene and noise regulations.
Stephen Dyson pleaded guilty to a total of 15 offences at York Magistrates Court last month, including some related to breaching noise conditions following complaints by local residents in the Gowthorpe area.
It was also revealed that a large number of bags of waste and overflowing bins were seen in an alleyway, while further investigation confirmed that there was no hot water in kitchen areas and referred to inadequate floor and wall surfaces. Despite requests the issues were not resolved.
Tim Grogan, an enforcement officer for Selby District Council, said: “This prosecution clearly demonstrates that Selby District Council will take all necessary enforcement action where people who supply food to the public are found to be blameworthy and breaches of legislation are considered detrimental to people's health."
