Irwin Mitchell in Bristol Presents Donation To Cots For Tots
The Bristol office of national law firm Irwin Mitchell has presented a cheque donation of £7,840 to The Cots for Tots Appeal, the firm’s 2013 Charity of the Year.
The Cots for Tots Appeal supports the south-west region’s Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. The charity raises funds to help the staff save the lives of the sickest and most premature babies from Bristol, Bath, the south-west of England and South Wales. The Unit cares for around 750 babies every year and is the only unit of its kind in the south-west equipped and able to offer specialist surgery, care and treatment to premature and critically ill babies.
The money raised by Irwin Mitchell in Bristol will help the Cots for Tots Appeal continue to support the life-saving work of the Special Care Baby Unit and provide free family accommodation at Cots for Tots House. The House is situated directly opposite St Michael’s Hospital and offers free accommodation for the parents of babies who are being treated on the Unit.
Employees of the firm, based on Castlepark in the city centre, took part in numerous events throughout 2013, including the Three Peaks Challenge, dress down days and a Big Quiz night, to raise the vital funds.
Helen Haskell, Corporate Fundraiser at The Cots for Tots Appeal, said: “The money Irwin Mitchell has raised will make a huge difference to sick and premature babies from, throughout the south-west region.
“We are so grateful to everyone at Irwin Mitchell. The staff have enthusiastically participated in the many fundraising events that took place throughout the year and we have enjoyed working together.”
The Charity of the Year initiative is part of the work of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation, an independent, registered charity set up by the partners and employees of Irwin Mitchell. The Foundation last year reached a remarkable milestone, having donated more than £1m to worthy causes since its formation in 1997.
